Bored at work...

Postby insanehippie » Thu Aug 31, 2006 12:12 am

Hey y'all.

I'm just wondering what y'all do when you're bored at work. I enjoy my Help Desk job a lot, tho there is lots of time where I'm just trying to burn thru the minutes, waiting for a support call, or a request to deliver something.

Many times I'll have an hour or more to sit at the computer. Do you know of any good websites or ways to use up time?

And do you know of any good WORK SAFE websites where I can spend lots of time? I know of the usual websites of Google News, digg.com, slashdot.org, etc what are some good lesser known websites that are entertaining to read for long periods of time?

Lately I've even spent lots of time on wikipedia just typing up random words and reading.

I found out a week ago that my own website has been blocked under the heading of "violence". I don't know aobut the IHN forum or any other subdomains I have. I don't want to tip off my bosses what my website is (this is assuming they already don't know how to google my name online).

Apparently my anti-gun control images or my general demeanor online is bad enough to be blocked. I'm honored. :-)

my websites

Postby insanehippie » Mon Sep 04, 2006 10:09 pm

Here are the websites I spend too much time on:

www.littlegreenfootballs - keeping track of the muslim "religion of peace"

www.packing.org - Gun laws of America and forum (I think it's down now... I dunno)

www.ytmnd.com - You're the Man Now Dog! Interweb humor at its worst/finest!

en.wikipedia.org - I like putting in random words and seeing what comes up

www.thinkgeek.com - what isn't there to like? Color changing silly putty, amazing computer mods and funny geek tshirts

I wonder aimlessly... Back and forth. Back and forth. CAGED.
Okay all of you geeks - PUG is not just a gaming term... It's also a breed of dog. And a type of handgun, so don't make fun of my dog.
