Republican Presidential Primary '08

Who do you WANT to get the Republican Presidential Nomination in '08 and why? (Notice its not who you think will end up with it--but you can post that if you'd like.)

The options (let me know and I'll add more):

John McCain: Senator from Arizona, alleged "political maverick", and former presidential candidate
Rudy Giuliani: Former mayor of New York City and "America's mayor"
Newt Gingrich: Former Speaker of the House and currently my second favorite FNC contributor
Bill Frist: Soon to be former Majority Leader and Senator from Tennessee
Mitt Romney: Soon to be former Governor of Massachusetts
George Allen: Senator from Virginia and genuinely barfy
Mike Huckabee: Soon to be former Governor of Arkansas and Slim Fast champion
Chuck Hagel: Senator from Nebraska
Sam Brownback: Senator from Kansas
Condoleezza Rice: Secretary of State and former National Security Advisor
Jeb Bush: Soon to be former Governor of Florida
George Pataki: Soon to be former Governor of New York
Wildcards (Those that have at least been mentioned, if only foolishly, but aren't going to make the poll just yet): Tom Tancredo, Tim Pawlenty, Haley Barbour, Mark Sanford, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Michael Bloomberg, and Rick Perry.

I voted for Romney for a couple of reasons. First, I don't think McCain has any shot in hell of winning the primary. The Evangelical base is too strong and influential, and he just doesn't resonate with them. Romney's views are far more in sync, but the question remains as to whether or not his Mormon background will hurt him or not. The way I see it right now, that part could be spun either way.

But the main reason I chose him is that he says what he means, and does what he says. And that is a very rare attribute in a politician. I don't agree with him on everything, but I respect his character tremendously.

The options (let me know and I'll add more):

John McCain: Can't stand him. I would rather sit out for 2008 or vote for Hillary Clinton. At least I know that she'll stab me in the front unlike the "maverick" bastard John McCain.
Rudy Giuliani: He may be America's Mayor, but that doesn't mean I'd vote for him for anything other than Mayor of NYC. He would be better as Homeland Security Chief than anywhere near the Presidency.
Newt Gingrich: He had his chance to fix America and has slacked off like crazy, and has been reduced to Fox News Guest Status.
Bill Frist: Oh! You mean the absentee GOP House Leader? I forgot who he was because he lost his spine months ago.
Mitt Romney: Once again, just because you're a Republican in a Yankee state doesn't mean you have a chance in hell of winning anyone outside of your state. Mitt would be lucky to win Mass.
George Allen: I'd go for him because he's a Virginian, and he has been one of the few U.S. Senators against the GWB & Senate Republicans Amnesty for Illegal Aliens plan. He's been front and center about it along with Tom Tancredo. I could easily vote for a Tom Tancredo/George Allen ticket in 2008, but that'd be one of the few tickets I'd actively promote.
Mike Huckabee: Ex-Arkansaw Governor... That's all I know about him. I don't know much about him, but I have heard of his name.
Chuck Hagel: RINO... Loser.
Sam Brownback: Possible RINO... possible loser to me.
Condoleezza Rice: She's a black Conservative Woman, but is that enough to win? No. Unless Hillary Clinton plays the "Vote for me because I'm a woman!" card.
Jeb Bush: I like Jeb Bush over GW Bush and Bush #41, but there comes a time when I've had enough of the Bushes, I don't want a three-peat. If GWB had done more to make Consevatives happy (spend less, veto more bills, push for a border fence and enforcement of immigration laws, etc) I'd be much more likely to support Jeb Bush. Sadly Jeb Bush couldn't be President instead of GWB. I think I'd be a much bigger Jeb fan than GWB right now.
George Pataki: See my reasoning against Mitt Romney, and replace Mass. with New York. Yankee Republicans are a joke. The Media should quit promoting them like they're hot shit.
Tom Tancredo: Tom is my boy. I'd vote for him in a heartbeat, even if all he did was make Mexico, and illegal aliens shit their pants and leave here in droves, and after building the fence and fineing employers he'd do a half-assed job I'd still enjoy him more than the current one-fourth-assed job I feel I'm seeing from GWB when it's all said and done.
Tim Pawlenty: Who?
Haley Barbour: Governor of Mississippi, or Alabama? I don't know him that well, but he did a good job after Katrina, at least he stuck to his post and didn't try to disarm the citizens like New Orleans Mayor Ray "School Bus" Nagin < S*P*I*T!! > and LA. Guv Kathleen Blanco < DOUBLE SPIT! >
Mark Sanford: I don't know who he is.
Arnold Schwarzenegger: Thankfully Arnold isn't a born American so his chances of being a President are less than zero. he's also a huge RINO. Tax Cuts are great, but you must also stop bending over backwards for Democrats that will do nothing but slit your throat for their lobby unions. You must grow a spine and tell the Democrat Children to sit the F* down and Shut the F* up. Real adults are here in California to fix your problems.

Michael Bloomberg: BASTARD!!! Fire this shit bucket! he's trying his damndest to ban guns nationwide. FUCK MICHAEL BLOOMBERG!
Rick Perry: Guv of Texas. I don't know him that well to say much.

---
So for me it's mostly:
1. Screw John "Democrat party" McCain
2. Screw Bloomberg
3. Go George Allen and Tom Tancredo
4. I don't care or know much about anyone else.
