Favorite political or otherwise quotes?

Postby insanehippie » Sat Nov 22, 2003 2:20 am

What are your favorite quotes?
I'm gonna keep this thread up, so I can go back to the things I've said before, I always need good Forum Profile fodder.

:: Being Tough on Terrorists ::
Being PC and "negotiating" with killers will only get us killed. And if that's too blunt, conservative, or "war mongering" for you, then go home, find a good bed sheet and go bury yourself in it. And while you're at it, fly a French flag from your house... We'll be sure to leave you alone when the defense of America comes...

:: On War ::
Islam is a religion of peace... Ask the Jews, they'll agree.
"There are those who defend freedom with blood, and others who give it away by inaction."

Those are the ones I've created, I have tons of others, but they were from other people.

One I always get a kick out of is:

"When you talk to God its called prayer, when God talks back its schizophrenia" (many people have said it, I especially remember it from early X-files)

And from one of my favorite authors:

A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion,
butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance
accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give
orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem,
pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently,
die gallantly. Specialization is for insects. ~ Time Enough For Love by Robert A. Heinlein.

sort of my life motto.

And finally by me
"Don't call it a plot for World Domination, we have to politically correct here, its a 'poltical agenda'"
President of Vegetarians for Cannibalism

Jesse nobody is advocating negotiating with the terrorists. I'm for fighting them. So are democrats. What i'm not for is pointlessly attacking countries that just happen to be full of brown people.

My favorite quote is obviously, "I feel your pain."

I heard this one the other day. I liked it cuz it pretty much sums up my thoughts on politics ..

"The thing about the political rat race is, even if you win, you're still a rat"
Nothing is true. Everything is permitted.

The radical of one century is the conservative of the next. The radical invents the views. When he has worn them out, the conservative adopts them.
