Abortion rates Climb on Bush's watch: So sad...

Postby Irene » Wed Oct 19, 2005 10:40 pm

Abortion was decreasing. When President Bush took office, the nation's abortion rates were at a 24-year low, after a 17.4 percent decline during the 1990s. This was a steady decrease averaging 1.7 percent per year. (The data come from Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life using the Guttmacher Institute's studies.)

Enter George W. Bush in 2001. One would expect the abortion rate to continue its consistent course downward, if not plunge. Instead, the opposite happened.

We found four states that have posted three-year statistics: Kentucky's increased by 3.2 percent from 2000 to 2003. Michigan's increased by 11.3 percent from 2000 to 2003. Pennsylvania's increased by 1.9 percent from 1999 to 2002. Colorado's rates skyrocketed 111 percent. We found 12 additional states that reported statistics for 2001 and 2002. Eight states saw an increase in abortion rates (14.6 percent average increase), and four saw a decrease (4.3 percent average).

Under Bush, the decade-long trend of declining abortion rates appears to have reversed. Given the trends of the 1990s, 52,000 more abortions occurred in the United States in 2002 than would have been expected before this change of direction.

So what you're saying is... Since Bush has gotten into office, the liberals have been pushing for more people to have abortions that way around the end of his term they can throw it up in everyone's face how More people have had Abortions?!? WTF are you trying to say here?

Well, you the one that brought it up so that made me believe that perhaps you knew the reason aswell. I don't know why, if what you say is true. My only guess is that the liberals have tried extra hard to talk more young female ladies into having abortions, I don't know... Maybe the liberals have figured out a way to make Abortions cheaper. Either way, I blame the liberals for it. I can't believe you claim to be a liberal and you'd even have the guts to bring up this subject. You're truely made of Iron, Brave...

liberal but..I'm against abortions unless there is sound reasons for it. One being a tubal pregnancy. In that case an abortion is a have to case. Although, conservatives hate to admit there are legitimate reasons for abortions...the fact remains that there is.

That's where I must disagree with you Irene. I'm glad to read that you're at least against most abortions. In my eyes, I see the whole picture. Lets do some numbers. In war, how many casulties are there? Well, obviously there's gonna be a lot. Same goes with Abortion. sure, there might be some cases where a girl was raped, or something like that. But would you rather see 100 abortions just so one girl who was raped have an abortion? Because, if I'm not mistaken. The rape cases are extremely rare. Most people who have abortions have them simply because they don't want them. Lame excuses like, I'm too young, I'm not ready for a child, I'm not married, I'm too old, blah blah blah blah. Hundreds of them, then every now and then you see a case with a girl who was raped. Well I say Fuck them all! Abortion is murder. It's an innocent child. But can someone please explain to me why every liberal seems to want to tell me that there shouldn't a death penilty for prisons? I mean, on one hand we're talking about an Innocent child's life, and on the other hand we're talking about a guilty murderer. oh god what have I done? I can't talk about this, I really can't. I shouldn't.

PRO CHOICE!
Why do you people give a fuck what other people do? It's not going to directly affect you or your life in any way. People are going to do this and other things they want to regardless of people like you guys. Obviously your opinion doesn't matter to the people doing it. And don't bring any of that religious "life is sacred" kind of stuff into this. It has nothing to do with your religious beliefs. To outlaw abortion or to regulate adults that would have it done is to impose your beliefs (religious) on people who don't believe the same things as you.

Your supposed logic doesn't follow any noticable pattern.

1. Abortions aren't related to Presidents in office. 2 You're just grasping at straws trying to find something, anything you can to blame Bush on.

Get a life.
